Teaching and learning were valued in my childhood home.  It was no surprise that most of my career has been in higher education.  Specifically, I worked to improve others' job performances through learning.  One of my bosses used to tell me that I had a gift for aligning my training with the company's goals while making my staff feel as though my training was tailored specifically for them.  This formed my philosophy:  Thorough analysis develops effective instructional design which enhances personalized learning.  This realization influenced me to pursue performance improvement in a professional way.  My Master's in Instructional Design has shown me that learning opens up opportunities, creates fulfilling careers and betters lives.

Now a doctoral student in Curriculum and Instruction, I intend on continuing this same desire to use learning to open up opportunities.  My desire is to continue to work in Higher Education and design learning solutions  and create a trauma-informed learning environment.
